▶ CHARACTER INFO.
CHARACTER NAME: Vash the Stampede
CHARACTER AGE: 150
CANON: Trigun Stampede
CANON POINT: Season one, episode twelve: “High Noon at July” - Just as Vash starts to plummet back to earth.
CRAU INFO: N/A

SUITABILITY:
Although Vash is a self-proclaimed pacifist he comes from a very violent world. The planet of Gunsmoke is filled with unsavoury characters and Vash has spent over a century surviving on that land. He is quick, clever, strong, and durable, and he cares deeply about people. Though he doesn’t shoot to kill unless completely necessary, he absolutely puts himself in between others and potential harm and if he were recruited he would take it as his duty to be the one on the front lines. It would not be hard to persuade him to fight for LILITH considering he often puts his own welfare on hold for absolute strangers. Vash takes it upon himself to defend entire towns even if they have treated him poorly and so the people of Neo Tokyo and his fellow recruits would fall in under that.

He also has a century plus experience. He knows how to use different weapons and how to repair them to keep them working. His own gun is almost as old as him and still in working condition. He’s clever enough to pick up the things that are new and throws himself into situations with enthusiasm. Vash also knows how to survive above all else. He can hunt, gather, and provide protection. He'll be good with the research LILITH wants people to do, especially if that's the more peaceful option.

Overall he’s kept himself alive for a long time despite how many people want him dead and that extends to other people. All in all, he would be useful, despite his reticence to kill. Also monsters are pretty cool. He’s sad he missed the comforting familiar giant worm.

POWERS & SKILLS:
Master Marksman: Vash has significantly better aim than most human beings ( he is able to shoot a singular bomb with one bullet in order to blow up several other bombs in the very first episode ). In most cases Vash always aims to incapacitate which means he has a very steady hand and a good eye and is aware of where to shoot to avoid accidentally killing people.
Superhuman Physiology: Vash is a plant. In Trigun that means he’s an organic generator - a kind of living source of energy. Usually plants are harnessed for that energy, but as Vash is an independent he is able to pass off as human and fly under the radar. Still, he has some above average skills when compared to normal human beings. Vash has a high sensory perception, he can predict people’s movements in advance using that ability to dodge his way out of trouble. He’s also fairly strong ( enough to wield heavy machinery in both hands ) and survives more injuries than most people. He also doesn’t age as fast as humans do. He can still be killed and he heals roughly at the same pace as everyone else, he just tends to survive greater injury.
Generator Power: Uses his energy to heal or calm other plants. Vash’s strength comes from a sort of black hole. When he harnesses his powers things begin to be sucked in through his “gate” to a higher dimension. He struggles to use it throughout the show and it only ever truly shows up when it is life and death.
Angel Power: He can summon a bulletproof wing that helps him fly.

NERFED POWERS: As Vash’s power is both relatively new in Stampede and we don’t know how the ‘23 anime is going to utilise it I think I would just choose not to have him access it. It can be put down to either him having less ability to use his gate or it could just be that he doesn’t entirely know how to wield it considering it took a lot of blunt force to get him to in the show. He also prefers not to use anything beyond his more human abilities and skills as a marksman so this will be fairly IC for him to avoid. He doesn’t exactly want to summon a black hole and lose more limbs, so he’ll just avoid anything to do with it. Anything else I’ll keep the same as it’s not game breaking.

PERSONAL ITEM: His 22. calibre gun plus ammo if acceptable. A/N: Vash has a prosthetic arm. In Trigun: Stampede this doesn’t do much else beyond block bullets ( in other Trigun adaptations it can turn into a gun but as we haven’t seen that in Tristamp I’m not counting it as canon. ) Would Vash be brought with that too or would it count as a personal item? If so he can work for his gun because I’d prefer he had both arms.
ALTERNATE IDENTITY: Eriks Saverem, and I’m thinking just a kind of … rent guy. And by rent guy I mean he’s a handyman that will do whatever you want him to do. He’s going to get business cards. There will be confusion.
